FREELANCING – A TURNING POINT

Whenever someone would ask me to try something new or do something out of my comfort zone, I would always initially decline. It’s not that I wouldn’t do it, it’s just that I need more time to process the new thing for myself. And when I think about it, negative things would then cloud my mind. But most of the time, even with pessimism, I would still push through it.

That was the same scenario when someone told me about Online Freelancing. It was a time when my contract with a Language School will be ending. Working online isn’t a new thing for me actually, since I worked as a homebased online English teacher for over a year before and an office based one the next. But my friend told me about that if I plan to do it, I should undergo a training with Filipino Virtual Assistance since they help people to become a one of a kind Virtual Assistant. She even told me about this amazing coach and invited me to one of their groups. Since it was something unfamiliar to me, I was initially scared. But just being a silent reader on Coach Keren’s page and on some Facebook groups helped me decide to actually give it a try.

Honestly, the first week was mind-blowing. And one night, on the second week, I just suddenly cried my eyes out. I felt disappointed about myself because I can’t understand one of the video lessons. It seemed too complicated for me that time when actually, it was very simple. Good thing is, my friends are always ready to encourage me. They gave me practical tips like I should rest after my day job before watching lessons, and take little breaks whenever it becomes too overwhelming. What Coach Keren said during the live coaching sessions also encouraged me a lot to never doubt my capabilities and to always think positively.

FREELANCING OUTLOOK

The next weeks would still be daunting, or even more than that, I know. But I liked that right now, my perspective for the training and freelancing itself has turned around. Things may be new to me, but now I see it as another skill that I can learn, another world to explore, another journey to take.

The training did equip me with new skills and Coach Keren did gave me motivation to finish my portfolios, but they also honed me to have a bright outlook and to always believe that I can do it. I know these will be very helpful to me if ever I have a client who will challenge me and will let me try new things. Grateful to FVA! ♥

You can do it, Sis! I have struggles in FVA Training too, but with positivity, I can manage to keep on learning. You can read my stories at this link! Good Job!
